Yalesville Fife & Drum Corps: Music

STAR SPANGLED BANNER: ET - War of 1812 Era: The music is "To Anacreon in Heaven"; the words are from the poem "The Defence of Fort McHenry" by Francis Scott Key 1814. Key observed the English bombardment of the fort and of Baltimore, and it moved him to write the poem. It became our National Anthem by an act of Congress in 1931.
