BRITISH GRENADIERS: AR - American Revolution Era: Originally composed 1690 with words referring to the struggle between James II and William of Orange, but popular during Revolution. Grenadiers got their name from the crude grenades of glass bottles filled with explosives that they would launch, but eventually were any top unit.
